COVID-19 UPDATES

July 23, 2020:
The studio is now open and following the same new protocols and practices as highlighted below.

July 6, 2020:

In the interest of our safety and well-being and in an abundance of caution, the studio is calling a temporary 'timeout' from July 8 through July 22 2020.  Nothing happened within the studio to trigger such action.   This is in response to the recent surge and  escalating health crisis in the county and state, doing what we possibly can to keep us safe and healthy and slow community spread of the coronavirus.   Livestream classes will still continue on during this time.  Thank you for patience and understanding.
May 18, 2020:
We are excited to re-open our doors and hold classes inside the studio starting Monday June 1.  Drawing upon direction from federal, state, and industry regulations, we have implemented new guidelines and protocols.  These guidelines are not intended to bring about fear and anxiety, but to make your return as safe as possible and to protect yourself, the team, and the community.  While we cannot completely eliminate the risk of contracting any virus or pathogen, we have confidence that everyone’s cooperation and adherence will allow us to proceed with caution and vigilance. We will continue to follow these new practices until otherwise directed.
Here is what’s new and what you can expect:
  • Maximum capacities for all classes have been reduced to enforce social distancing.  As such, advance reservations should be made online as no walk-ins will be accepted.
  • We will take your temperature once you enter.  If you have a temperature over 100.4, you will not be allowed to remain in the studio.
  • We will ask you to attest that you are not experiencing flu-like symptoms, have not come into contact with someone with a confirmed case of COVID-19, have not had a fever in the past 48 hours, and do not have a new loss of taste or smell. If you cannot attest to any of these statements,  you cannot remain in the studio.
  • Please wear a face covering upon entering the studio up until class begins, when it can then be removed, and then back on again when exiting.
  • When appropriate, remove your shoes in the reception area and bring them and other belongings to store in baskets spread out on the floor.  Bring only what you need, including a filled water bottle, as the communal water dispenser will not be made available for use.
  • Wash your hands before and after class, or use the hand sanitizing stations located on both ends of the studio floor.
  • Depending on the class, social distancing is between 7 to 9 feet.  Spots are marked accordingly on the floor to help maintain proper spacing between you and others.
  • You are encouraged to bring own mat for Pilates.  If using the studio mat, you will need to bring a long towel or the equivalent that can fully cover the mat.
  • Bring your own yoga mat and props.
  • Similar to before, continue to wipe down equipment and props used during class.  Place props in the designated area as they will not be used again that day.
  • Exit the studio through the ‘front’ door, the one facing Rt. 41.

Note the studio has made or is making changes as well:
  • Re-configured the studio reception area and training floor to promote safe distancing.  (the couch is gone, the cubbies have been re-purposed)
  • Adjusted class start or end times to allow extra time to clean and disinfect between classes.
  • Requiring instructors to wear face coverings during class while providing instruction.  (Removal permitted if acting as a fellow participant of class and honoring required safe distancing.)
  • No hands-on assists or adjustments for yoga classes will be offered.  Cueing and corrections will be provided verbally.
  • In addition to current existing continuous cleaning practices, there will be more frequent disinfecting and sanitizing of equipment and high touch areas throughout the day using EPA-approved products.  Accessories and props will be de-commissioned once used that day.
  • Boosting ventilation and filtration of HVAC system.
Please note that several classes will continue to be offered via livestream if this suits you better.
We appreciate your patience during the time of closure.  We appreciate your cooperation as we navigate these unprecedented times and adjust to a new normal.
April 4, 2020:
Pursuant to the state governor's executive order that closes fitness centers and gyms and the subsequent stay-at -home executive order for all Floridians, the studio will remain closed indefinitely.  Livestreaming yoga, pilates, and fitness classes will be offered.   Please stay safe and healthy.

March 17, 2020:
In light of rapidly changing developments and updated guidelines from the CDC, the studio will be closed March 17 through March 29.   This was deemed the next prudent and responsible course of action.  The health, safety, and wellbeing of everyone - not just our immediate studio community, but the wider net that includes families, friends, co-workers - is paramount at this time.   Wishing everyone continued health.

March 13, 2020:
The health and safety of the community has always been of the utmost priority, especially now.  A studio should be a safe space for its community, it should foster an environment for one to get healthy and stay healthy, it can even be considered a respite from the outside world where one can practice self-care.     We don't want to take that away, especially during this time of crisis.  Yet we also want to be smart, careful and prudent.

With that, we want to assure you we continue to do all we can to keep us safe.   Strict cleaning and sanitizing practices are adhered to, with additional precautions being taken to minimize risk even further.  Continued practices and additional precautions include:
  • Cleaning of reformers  and other equipment and props (weights, kettlebells, body bars, bands, barres, etc.) after each use and disinfected daily; all reformers undergo a separate cleaning and maintenance check regularly.
  • Blue mats and yoga mats are wiped off after each use and disinfected daily.
  • High-touch surfaces,  including desks, cubbies, light switches, entry door bars, toilet handle, etc. are sprayed and disinfected multiple times daily.
  • Regular cleaning of fabrics, including cleaning cloths, straps, loops, bolsters.
  • Yoga blankets have been removed.  Please consider bringing your own blanket or type of padding as needed for yoga classes.
  • The maximum capacity for several classes have been reduced to confirm with social distancing recommendations.  No class will have more than 10 participants (6 for Refomer).
  • If supplying a credit card to make a payment on-site, you will be asked to run your credit card through the swiper yourself.
  • All clients will be asked to wash their hands before starting class.
We continue to monitor the CDC , WHO, and Florida Department of Health websites for updates and proactive next courses of action as needed.
